On 8 November Bendigo TAFE announced a new suite of hospitality, tourism and events courses delivered in partnership with William Angliss Institute of Melbourne.
Launched with the support of the Victorian Government, the new courses will provide Bendigo learners with local access to training, work placements, industry networking and pathways to career opportunities.
Bendigo TAFE’s CEO Trevor Schwenke said the new courses are specifically introduced to meet industry skill needs of today and tomorrow.
“There is a growing demand for skilled employees within the hospitality, tourism and events industries in Bendigo.
“Our new courses, which focus on hands-on industry experience opportunities, will provide local learners with relevant skills and fantastic career pathways,” said Bendigo TAFE’s CEO Trevor Schwenke.
“These courses are being introduced with the support of the Victorian Government that has committed significant funding to support regional pathways and employment based on local industry needs.”
New courses include the Certificate III in Tourism, Diploma of Travel and Tourism Management, Certificate IV in Hospitality, Diploma of Hospitality Management and Diploma of Event Management, with all students given an opportunity to go on an all-expenses paid study week at William Angliss as part of the course.
Other new courses announced on the day include the Certificate II in Retail Services, Certificate III in Retail and Diploma of Visual Merchandising that aim to address the needs of the growing retail sector in Bendigo and its surrounds.
