TECHNOLOGY ADVANCED DIPLOMA OF COMPUTER SYSTEMS TECHNOLOGY Course code ICT60515 Direct entry / February This qualification provides the skills and knowledge required to coordinate and administer the installation, commissioning and ongoing maintenance of a range of networks, enterprise servers and systems, including internetworking, security and e-business solutions. An individual with these skills may be part of a team or provide services as an independent Information and Communications Technology (ICT) specialist. DURATION Full-time: 1 year PREREQUISITES There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification, however the preferred pathway for candidates include: • Completion of the Certificate IV in Computer Systems Technology (ICT41015) or another equivalent qualification, or • Demonstrated vocational experience in a range of work environments in senior network support roles, including Administrator, Operations Analyst, Technician, Operations or Support Coordinator/Technician. SELECTION PROCESS You are required to attend an interview and complete a language, literacy and numeracy assessment. CERTIFICATE IV IN INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY NETWORKING Course code ICT40418 Direct entry / February and July This qualification provides the skills and knowledge for an individual to install and manage small scale networks, either as an independent network support technician or as part of a team. Suitable for school leavers or mature age learners who are looking to develop skills and knowledge in the installation and management of simple networks. DURATION Full-time: 1 year PREREQUISITES You will need to have an Interview, have satisfactory language, literacy and numeracy skills and be at least 15 years of age. This is only available for students that are currently enrolled in the Certificate IV in Computer Systems Technology. This is not offered as a stand alone course. SELECTION PROCESS You are required to attend an interview and complete a language, literacy and numeracy assessment. CAREER OPPORTUNITIES Network Support, Network Operations Support, Network Operations Technician, Network Technician or a Network Support Technician. FURTHER STUDY OPPORTUNITIES Graduates may apply to study the Advanced Diploma of Computer Systems Technology (ICT60515).
