COMMUNITY DIPLOMA OF COMMUNITY SERVICES Course code CHC52015 Direct entry / February and July intakes Gain an understanding of human rights, cultural inclusion, Indigenous culture and strategies for effective service delivery. This diploma qualification provides skills for people who work in roles that usually involve service delivery, either direct client work and/ or community education or development projects. Bendigo TAFE in partnership with La Trobe University offers a dual enrolment program that enables students to complete a diploma and relevant degree at the same time. Our Diploma of Community Services (CHC52015) articulates into the Bachelor of Community Services at La Trobe University. DURATION Full-time: 18 months (2 days per week). Includes 400 hours mandatory work placement. PREREQUISITES High level language, literacy and numeracy as reflected in the assessment as part of the selection process. You also need to have a clear police record and Working with Children Check (WWCC). SELECTION PROCESS Pre-training interview and successful completion of a Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) assessment. CAREER OPPORTUNITIES This qualification allows graduates to work as a Social Welfare Worker or Community Worker. You may seek employment in local, state and federal government departments or in a range of family and community service agencies. Workers may provide support, advocacy or interventions to individual clients, groups or communities across a range of services. DURATION Full-time: 6 months (3 days per week).
