HEALTH HEALTH & NURSING CERTIFICATE IV IN ALLIED HEALTH ASSISTANCE Course Code HLT43015 Direct Entry / February intake Start working in public and private hospitals including the rehabilitation sector. With an Allied Health Assistance qualification you will be trained to provide therapeutic and program related support under the guidance of an Allied Health Professional. Placement is a mandatory part of the course (120 hours) and is organised by Bendigo TAFE. DURATION Full-time: 9 months (2 days per week in Semester 1 and 2 evenings per week in Semester 2 and 8 Saturdays). PREREQUISITES • Current Police Check and Working with Children Check (WWCC) • Evidence of current immunisation status within one month of starting this course. • Emotional competence and physical mobility • You will need to be over the age of 18 to complete the work placement/practical component of this course SELECTION PROCESS You will be assessed to ensure that you have the satisfactory language, literacy and numeracy (LLN), and the communication skills to undertake the course. See vic.gov.au/free-tafe CERTIFICATE III IN PATHOLOGY COLLECTION Course Code HLT37215 Direct entry / February and July intakes The qualification reflects the role of pathology collectors. Workers follow known routine procedures, taking responsibility for their own work under general supervision. They combine customer service and technical skills and use discretion and judgement to adapt and transfer skills to different situations. Placement is a mandatory part of the course (35 hours) and this is organised by Bendigo TAFE. DURATION Full-time: 6 months (3 days per week) PREREQUISITES • Satisfactory level of numeracy, literacy • You will need to be over the age of 18 to complete the work placement/practical component of this course Within one month of commencing the course applicants must obtain: • A current and valid National Police Record Check • Working with Children Check (WWCC) • Evidence of current immunisation status SELECTION PROCESS You will be assessed to ensure that you have the satisfactory language, literacy and numeracy (LLN) and the communication skills to undertake the course.
