SUPPORT TUTORSPACE TutorSpace is a free study session with experienced tutors to help our students write an assessment, begin a project, learn basic IT skills or just to build your confidence in areas you need help with. These sessions run at various times and days during the week throughout the school year and are located at the Bendigo TAFE City campus library. Visit our friendly library staff for more information. STUDENT SUPPORT SERVICES TEAM Bendigo TAFE offers a range of support services to help students keep up with and successfully complete their course work. Our counsellors facilitate a variety of workshops throughout the year, providing strategies to help you overcome challenges, no matter how big or small. The team is here to help you enjoy your studies, giving you the tools to be independent. You can access help with language, literacy and numeracy to ensure you are able to meet the requirements of the course you are enrolled in, whilst building on what you already know. Our specialised teachers will assist you to reach your full potential. They will work with you in units that encompass general education and work skills principles that are important for success in your career and education journey. To find out how we can help you, contact us on 13 TAFE (13 8233) WE SUPPORT YOU THROUGH YOUR JOURNEY EMPLOYMENT CENTRE One of our primary goals is to strengthen the employability of our students and help them find real jobs in their chosen industry. Our Employment Centre is specifically dedicated to helping you develop your employability skills. Our experts can help you with job search, one- on-one coaching and access to the weekly vacancy listing and other useful resources. Over 1,000 employers advertise jobs with the centre every year and we have a strong track record in successfully placing our students. You can contact the centre on 1300 484 335 or email employmentcentre@bendigotafe.edu.au RECONNECT Reconnect is a free service that can provide personalised support and course related financial assistance to people who haven’t completed Year 12 or equivalent (certificate II or higher). This service works with your strengths and your individual learning goals to help you successfully return to education and training. To be eligible for the Reconnect program you must be: • Aged between 17 and 64 years • Out of school for at least 14 weeks • Not in full time employment for at least 12 months • Not enrolled in other education or training • Have not completed year 12 or equivalent • Need extra support to succeed in education and training. Our friendly consultants provide personalised advice and can assist you to answer questions such as: • Do I need training or a qualification? • How can I start a career or make a career change? • Where do I start to look for a new job? • What type of job may be good for me?
