HAIR & BEAUTY BENDIGO CITY CAMPUS | 23 MUNDY STREET, BENDIGO HAIR CERTIFICATE II IN SALON ASSISTANT Course code: SHB20216 Direct entry / February Intake If your goal is to work as a hairdresser, this course can give you a head start. This nationally recognised qualification will give you the basic knowledge and skills required to commence work in a hairdressing salon as a salon assistant. You will gain genuine hands-on experience working with real clients in our on-campus training salon. DURATION Part-time: 26 weeks PREREQUISITES You need to have satisfactory literacy and numeracy skills and be at least 15 years of age when you apply. SELECTION PROCESS You will be required to complete an assessment to evaluate your language, literacy and numeracy (LLN) skills. This helps to ensure that you enrol in a course that is the right level of study for you. CAREER OPPORTUNITIES This qualification may help you to find employment as an apprentice hairdresser. A hairdressing qualification can lead to many work opportunities, from owning your own salon to working at fashion shows or in film and television. FURTHER STUDY OPPORTUNITIES Graduates of this course can go onto study the Certificate III in Hairdressing (SHB30416) or the Certificate III in Barbering (SHB30516).
