Key study areas include basic design principles and elements, drawing, typography, colour theory, 2D and 3D exploration and techniques, use of design software and creative thinking skills. DURATION Full-time: 1 year PREREQUISITES You need to have satisfactory literacy and numeracy skills to undertake this course and be at least 15 years of age. SELECTION PROCESS Individual interview. CAREER OPPORTUNITIES Junior Design Assistant. FURTHER STUDY OPTIONS Students completing this course can study further with the Diploma of Graphic Design (CUA50715) at Bendigo TAFE. They combine technical, creative and conceptual skills to create designs that meet client requirements and solve a range of visual communication challenges. DURATION Full-time: 1 year PREREQUISITES You need to have completed VCE (or equivalent) or be of mature age and have sufficient work experience. You also need to have a high level of literacy and numeracy skills following completion of a LLN assessment. Some art and design skills are necessary. SELECTION PROCESS Assessment of portfolio and individual interview. Successful completion of Certificate IV in Design (CUA40715) gives automatic entry.
