CERTIFICATE III IN COMMERCIAL COOKERY Course code: SIT30816 Direct entry / Rolling enrolments. This program is the industry qualification for a cook. You will learn to use a wide range of cookery skills, develop a sound knowledge of kitchen operations and build on your discretion and judgement. DURATION Non-apprenticeship/college based: Part-time: 2 years* *This course is delivered over two days a week Apprenticeship: 3 years SELECTION PROCESS Language, literacy and numeracy test. Individual interview. CAREER OPPORTUNITIES • Manager • Cook • Hospitality Worker FURTHER STUDY OPTIONS After completion of the Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (SIT30816), you could progress into the Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery (SIT40516), and the Diploma of Hospitality Management (SIT50416). PREREQUISITES Apprenticeships: You must be employed as an apprentice in order to enrol in this course, and have a signed training agreement with your employer. You need to have satisfactory literacy and numeracy skills and be at least 15 years of age.
